Welcome to Overflux.com,
a southeast usa parkour community

(est. 2004)
Parkour, or the art of displacement, is moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible using the abilities of the human body.

It is meant to help one overcome obstacles in the surrounding environment—from branches and rocks to rails and concrete walls—within rural and urban areas.

As a non-profit, community-driven organization, overflux is dedicated to the advancement of member traceurs (parkour practitioners).
As partners in training for parkour, we set up regular sessions open to everyone all around the southeast.

Common Questions: 1
Stretching.

Everyone knows about it, but how many really know what they're doing when they stretch? For three years now, overflux has linked the most comprehensive stretching article on the 'net. It should have been in the spotlight before now, but it's better late than never to correct how you stretch. So here it is:

Stretching: Everything you Never Wanted to KnowIf you don't want to spend the time learning and reading, at least look at the page on Risky Stretches and make sure to avoid them!

2-Day Atlanta Session Coming Up!

If you live in Atlanta or the surrounding areas, be sure to make this session! This will be a great opportunity to learn, share, and enjoy in clear summer weather.

Summer is upon us...
As the weather gets nice and hot all over the southeast, I want to encourage everyone to get outside and continue (or start) training. Everywhere you are, feel free to setup some meetups in the Sessions forums or in the States forums. We've got a big community here at Overflux and people everywhere are looking for other traceurs.

Start getting a regular training schedule going if possible. To those not posting, remember EVERYONE IS INVITED to participate in anything that gets posted in that Sessions forums.

Now get out there.
Have fun, be safe, and go train!

Oops, I meant 6" wide.

I wasn't even training, just walking/exploring (I do this a lot). I always walk in grippy shoes, but they were soaked from rain training yesterday, so I was in my work shoes with no traction. Beside most UGA stairs there are concrete ramps about 6' wide that I like to take instead of stairs, but this time due to rain + moss + no grip shoes I instantly fell straight back on my tailbone. Really stupid move on my part, but I think I will heal fine over time, just at the moment I have some ugly bruising and an open wound and pain. But no head-staples. :-)

damn what happened?

Hey Max, I'll see who can come. If at least a few will, I'll drive, but I'm kinda injured at the moment and not able to train as hard as normal.

Just looked at my tailbone for the first time since earlier. Not pretty. I'm still coming Thursday, but won't be able to do much again, but I'll do what I can.

sounds good. 6:30 again?

Great practice, Carson, John and Stacy. If you guys are free on a Sunday, we should carpool up to Decatur to train with the Atlanta guys.

I dunno, that chick kinda reminds me of a juicer.

Getting Started

You might have seen parkour in a video or two, but are wondering, how do I get into this?! That's exactly why this website was created - to link traceurs from all over the southeast.
