Welcome to Overflux.com,
a southeast usa parkour community

(est. 2004)
Parkour, or the art of displacement, is moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible using the abilities of the human body.

It is meant to help one overcome obstacles in the surrounding environment—from branches and rocks to rails and concrete walls—within rural and urban areas.

As a non-profit, community-driven organization, overflux is dedicated to the advancement of member traceurs (parkour practitioners).
As partners in training for parkour, we set up regular sessions open to everyone all around the southeast.

Summer is upon us...
As the weather gets nice and hot all over the southeast, I want to encourage everyone to get outside and continue (or start) training. Everywhere you are, feel free to setup some meetups in the Sessions forums or in the States forums. We've got a big community here at Overflux and people everywhere are looking for other traceurs.

Start getting a regular training schedule going if possible. To those not posting, remember EVERYONE IS INVITED to participate in anything that gets posted in that Sessions forums.

Now get out there.
Have fun, be safe, and go train!

T-Shirts are IN!
We've got a new batch of red shirts in. That menas small, medium, and large red short-sleeve shirts. Actually, we've also got some blue S/M/L as well. If you'd like one during the upcoming session, please let me know via the contact form above. I'll be updating the prices and availability on the apparel page in the days to come.

Decatur & Athens Sessions Coming Up!
Be sure to attend this session, our annual summer jam. More details will be posted here and in the upcoming events area (at top right). Please discuss the event and transportation requirements here: [link]

tab, when you land a jump you're probably landing wrong and letting your knee go past your big toe. this put strain on the joint and not the muscle... take some time off and just do body weight squats, feet shoulder with apart, comfortable stance and don't let your knee go past you toes. FS, it grows all over the place at my apartment complex so I just go outside, pick some leaves and wash them off. it's good, healthy and most importantly... FREE

For some reason my knee really hurts under the knee cap. Sometimes it'll be fine but then when I'm walking it'll hurt and sometimes it almost feels like its going to pop when I turn my leg. Sup with Dat?

btw, I do that during my breaks, so no stretching or hard-muscle stuff required. Great for quick but fun and effective training.

I've been training every day on the railroad trails--walking, turning, jumping, etc. It's really fun and safe (no drop). If anyone wants to train with me on them in the day during a weekday, let me know.

interesting, did you pick the kudzu from the side of the road or buy it somewhere?

it has rained every day for the past two weeks here in jacksonville... getting a tad frustrating.
Straif
so I made myself a baby spinach and kudzu salad for dinner tonight during work.
kudzu actually ain't that bad and ti's great for you... just don't eat the stems cause they're kinda bitter, but the leaves taste fine. haven't tried the roots yet. and yes, you can eat the entire plant and you'll get some nutrients from all of it

It's funny in that NYC Parkour Generations video, how Stephane mentions, "Okay, now the other side." with rolls.

Getting Started

You might have seen parkour in a video or two, but are wondering, how do I get into this?! That's exactly why this website was created - to link traceurs from all over the southeast.
